Miramare Italiano, one of our favorite places – update

Miramare Italiano has become our go to places when we want a slow paced, quiet, great (Italian) meal. Located in the small village of Habersham on the outskirts of Beaufort, Miramare’s is one of a dozen businesses located here.  It’s a cute retirement village with housing and a small business area, located on the first floors of many of the buildings, in what would be called a downtown area. It doesn’t feel like or come across as a downtown, it’s just the best explination of what the area is.

Some of the other businesses here are Real Estate Office (serving the housing here), Wine / Cheese shop, a pub, a pizza parlor, Fire Department, a few clothing shops and a Edwards Jones office. The area doesn’t come across like a downtown, mostly because all store front look like they are part of the building they are in (the upper floors are all Condo’s). The sidewalks are pretty narrow and lined with trees and park benches, and folks are encouraged to purchase food / beverages and sit anywhere they want. In the center of the area, in the middle of the road, is a nice small island (no water involved) with park benches and tables for gathering.

We went to Miramare’s tonight and had a wonderful meal. I had Chicken Piccata and she had Chicken Marsala. She said she liked my Dish a bit more than hers. But couldn’t have been much more, as they were not going to have to clean the dishes as she cleaned her’s up real good:)
