Gooey cinnamon rolls get a citrus and pecan upgrade at the rural Virginia bakery

First time here was during the week, so they didn’t have any of their award winning Cinnamon Rolls, but once I found out when I needed to go back and get some, I did … and damn they were GREAT! Great enough that we planned our return trip home on a Saturday so we could stop by and get a few more. The first time we did get some pastries which were pretty damn good.

So when we got home, friends asked about our trip and yes, I told them all about these Awesome Cinnamon Rolls, and yes, they all laughed at me, because that was one of the highlights on my trip. So fast forward a year or so and these friends want to go on a trip with us, and VA area was part of the plan, so much so, that I called ahead and ordered a Tray to pickup on Saturday (planned the route and times around getting these babies:) ) So I punched in Red Truck Bakery and while driving there, I realized, this is not the way? Turns out they have 2 locations, and luckily they had my order at this location. Well the funny thing is, I pulled up to the drive through, as that all this location has, and the young lady at the window, asked what I wanted, I told here I placed an order, gave her my name and she said “Someone will meet you out front, as the tray is to big pass thru the drive-up window. Well to know Leo, let’s just say – he Laughed so hard, he almost pissed himself, and that was before I got the tray. After getting the tray, he laugh A LOT Harder, and asked “who in the hell was going to eat these” my wife said “He will!” Now you have to understand, Leo is on Med’s for cholesterol and high blood pressure, so he get’s angry (in a fun loving way,) that I can eat all this shit and I’m not diabetic, a fat slob or worst. He also eats it, because he can’t not try all these thing like this that we get. To say he didn’t freaked love these rolls would be a serious understatement. Oh, I guess I should point out I ordered 2 trays of these expecting fully to share with our Daughters family once we got to them in Quantico, VA (her husband is a Marine).

So the bottom-line is, YES, stop by any time of the week, but for Kick-Ass Cinnamon Rolls, it’s Saturdays only
